Commercial Security Guard

Overview
Silverseal security is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to security, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively in various situations.

Location: Mahwah, NJ

Salary: $17.50/hr.

Shift: 7 AM-7 PM

Days: Sat. and Sun. weekend availability

Duties

• Monitor premises through regular patrols and surveillance systems to prevent theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities.
• Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, assessing the situation and taking appropriate action.
• Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and ensure safety within the facility.
• Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, equipment, and access points to identify potential security risks.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary and provide assistance during investigations.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and any unusual occurrences for management review.

Requirements:

• Valid NY security guard license
• A minimum of (1) year work history in a security supervisory role
• Provide friendly and exceptional customer service for the business
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to write accurate and concise reports for team members and supervisors
• Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound judgement calmly and effectively
• Experience in scheduling, security operations, and other functions of the security industry are a plus.
• Associate’s Degree, or its equivalent, or related prior experience in the corporate security industry and/or military is preferred.
• Candidates must be willing to work weekends, and holidays.

Skills

• Strong observational skills with the ability to notice irregularities or suspicious behavior.
• Knowledge of surveillance equipment such as CCTV systems and their operation.
• Experience in conflict management techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
• Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and protocols is preferred.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-pressure environments.
