About the Role
A leading food manufacturing and distribution company is seeking an experienced Cold Storage Warehouse Facility Manager to lead and manage day-to-day warehouse operations at their Philadelphia-based Distribution Center. This role requires overseeing operations across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, maintaining a high standard of safety, quality, and efficiency in a temperature-controlled environment (28-33°F). The ideal candidate will be a proactive and strategic leader with solid experience in warehouse operations, team management, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations: Direct all warehouse functions including receiving, storage, distribution, and facility maintenance.
- Layout & Space Utilization: Optimize warehouse layout and space for operational efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory through effective WMS processes and reconciliation.
- Team Leadership: Manage, train, and develop a large team of supervisors and hourly associates across all shifts.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor KPIs to drive performance and accountability.
- Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and transport teams to ensure smooth inbound/outbound flow.
- Budget Management: Create and manage budgets, focusing on cost control and operational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred) OR equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in warehouse/facility management.
- Proven success managing a 24/7 or three-shift warehouse environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control best practices.
- Demonstrated experience leading 12 supervisors and 100 hourly team members.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and people development abilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Technically proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse software solutions.
- Willingness to maintain a visible presence on-site across shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a family-owned or privately held business environment.
- Background in change management or organizational development.
- Military experience is a plus.
