Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing food for service
- Prepares meal following provided recipes for all dining rooms and special functions.
- Prepares delightful and tasty food items
- Responsible for kitchen opening or closing procedures.
- Does advance preparation as indicated.
- Completes food quality evaluations and temperature checks at each meal.
- Completes preparation records and stores food items properly at close of meal service (dated and labeled).
- Cleans work area and equipment used in food preparation, as they go.
- Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices.
- Ensures that all hot food preparation and assembling is done in accordance with established procedures, and according to State Regulations.
- Assumes responsibility for self-safety and that of immediate work environment.
- Attending annual in-service on body mechanics, right-to-know laws and fire and safety procedures.
- Adheres to all Huntington Community Policies and Procedures.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Previous experience as a cook in a hospitality environment
- Strong culinary skills, cooking techniques of soups, sauces, varied ingredients.
- Ability to prepare short order and banquet style cuisine.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation and handling techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety and sanitation rules and practices.
- Effectively follow recipes, menus and production sheets.
- Flexibility with working varied shifts including some weekends and holidays
- Ability to comprehend recipes
- Ability to work well independently and with others as directed by the management.
- Knowledge of modified Diets
- Servsafe - Food Safety certification is a plus /will train
