Position: Charge Nurse
As a Charge Nurse, you will oversee the care provided by nursing aides to ensure our residents receive the highest level of care and attention. You will play a key role in the daily operations of the facility, leading by example and ensuring that care standards are met consistently. As a charge nurse, you will take the lead on the floor. We respect the chain of command, and as the charge nurse, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the team. The administrative team aims to eliminate micromanagement,
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Care:
- Provide direct nursing care to all residents during the assigned shift, ensuring quality, personalized, and compassionate care.
- Assist with resident care as needed, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Chart on all residents under your care, documenting changes in condition, treatment, and any other pertinent information in the appropriate records.
Staff Supervision and Education:
- Supervise and manage the performance of nursing staff during the shift.
- Provide guidance, support, and education to nursing aides, ensuring they adhere to best practices and meet care standards.
- Foster a professional and supportive work environment for staff.
Collaboration with Medical Personnel:
- Take verbal and written orders from physicians and other medical personnel, ensuring accurate documentation in nursing notes.
- Accompany physicians on rounds and assist in executing orders.
- Communicate new medication orders with medical technicians, ensuring proper documentation in the Medication Administration Record (MAR), Treatment Administration Record (TAR), and Physician Orders Sheet (POS).
Communication and Professionalism:
- Be sensitive and responsive to the needs of residents and their families, maintaining a professional, respectful, and empathetic demeanor at all times.
- Communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and families, ensuring clarity and accuracy of information.
Compliance with Scope of Practice:
- Perform all duties within the scope of licensure as either a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Adhere to all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
