General Summary of Job Duties
The Network Engineer will coordinate with the Sr. Network Engineer for tasks that arise for day-to-day operations of the various computer systems, hardware, networking solutions, servers, central data center and future recommended solutions. They will provide on-site/remote administration for software users in a variety of work environments, including professional offices, workgroups or departments, and corporate information services. The Network Engineer will also be assigned functional roles by the Sr. Network Engineer with any future projects that have been decided on including being accountable for the IT Engineering and Systems department responsibilities.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Assists IT Engineering and System support from a technical level and providing training, mentorship and support to the team.
- Maintains the advanced software support procedures of property computer systems and information technology.
- Determines business needs where a technological solution is possible.
- Develops relationships with vendors.
- Works with departments to understand their IT requirements.
- Responsible for Project Management.
- Communicates with business owners on status of software troubleshooting and customization.
- Provides an expert functional IT resource to end users on various Network, server and cyber security functions.
- Provides a communication liaison function between Network vendors and the business.
- Networking: Assists Sr. Network Engineer for the administration, maintenance and installation of all Silverton network infrastructure and those core systems that specifically impact the business in relation to Internet, telephony, communication, routing and switching, etc. Will also recommend new solutions regarding hardware and software.
- Assists Sr. Network Engineer for the 3rd level support for property IT support, system backups, archiving, and disaster recovery.
- Assists Sr. Network Engineer for inventory management of all software licenses, software, hardware and other IT Engineering assets as required by the business.
- Assists Sr. Network Engineer for purchasing software, hardware and other IT Engineering and Systems software required by the business.
- Assists Sr. Network Engineer design, implementation and maintenance of systems, programs, hardware and software.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of training programs to assist in on-going operations.
- Maintains information security procedures, policies, and processes that are set forth.
- Responsible for IT Internal Control compliance
- Ensures proper SOP and their usage.
- Attends property wide meetings to keep in touch with other departments computing needs.
- Briefs the IT Management on status of information/business systems related issues.
- Ensures computing systems are operating in compliance with the Gaming Control Board regulations.
- Resolves staff conflicts.
- Ensures that security integrity for all computing systems is maintained and documented.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.
- Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards.
- Maintain an open line of communication with Managers.
Qualifications
Skills, Education & Other Requirements
- College degree in computer science or related field or at least 2 years of experience in a Network and System support capacity
- Casino Business Applications and Networking Experience preferred.
- Technical background knowledge in all aspects of network, business software support and desktop computing.
- Knowledge in project management and be familiar with project management programs.
- Familiar with casino, hotel and food and beverage operations preferred.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
