So, what does a Silvi Materials Head of Aggregate and Bulk Logistics do? You'll be an integral part of our Top Tier logistics team. In this role, you will:
- Deliver aggregate subject matter expertise
- Manage commercial aggregate procurement activities, including leasing, sourcing, pricing, negotiation and contracting.
- Achieves the Distribution Cost objectives of the region from a financial perspective. Improves productivity by analyzing all key performance indicators (KPIs) and developing and implementing strategies & tactics for improvement.
- Manages working schedule and overtime costs.
- Drives performance by coaching, performance managing, counselling, mentoring and developing Logistics department employees. Manages team to meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Coordinates emergency situations with supervisory and staff, other department heads, human resources, and staff.
- Evaluates all information at hand to determine what type of actions are necessary to Minimize Delivery Cost and satisfy the delivery need.
- Oversee the use of scale software, GPS tracking software, Phone Management tools, Truck Radio tools, call center recorder, D365 and Excel.
- Assists the VP of Logistics in the preparation of the budget, forecasts, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective action.
- Ensures compliance with all Federal and local legal requirements.
- Maintains regular contact with Sales Manager & Operations Manager to determine Driver staffing needs required to fill customer demands.
- Regularly communicates via phone, email or in person with customers to ensure customer service expectations are met and exceeded.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration
- 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Analytical or Railcar fleet management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to details
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills in a cross functional setting.
- Solid technical skills in Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.
- Values a commitment to team concepts and has a sense of ownership and urgency.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with all managers, employees, vendors, and customers
- This person needs to have excellent and clear communication skills (bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus)
- Be well-organized.
- Have strong customer service skills.
- Dispatching experience is a plus.
- Experience in the concrete/construction industry is also a plus.
