Title of Position: Summer 2025 Mining Intern (Rock Quarry)
Locations: Belle Mead, New Jersey (Near Princeton, NJ) or Sand Mines in South New Jersey
Through a combination of growth and acquisitions, Silvi Materials have together become one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of concrete products in the Northeast, US. Today, Silvi Materials manufactures concrete at multiple state locations and supplies those plants with materials from Silvi owned mining operations and a deep-water port facility.
As a Silvi Materials Mining Intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into the world of rock quarry mining. You will report to our experienced mining manager. Your 10–12-week experience will include everything from learning the aggregate business, field visits to our other mines (Sand) and hands on heavy equipment/plant maintenance. The goal of the Mining Internship is to provide individuals with a hands-on approach to the aggregates mining industry.

So, what does a Rock Quarry Mining Intern doYou'll be an integral part of operations:
Assist In The Day-to-day Production Responsibilities Of Mining Including
- Get MSHA certified! (Company Paid Training)
- Field visits to our various mines and plants (Exposure to Silvi Locations)
- Assists in the blasting process, including laying out drill patterns and loading shots. (Real world experiences of the mining world)
- Oversee Inventory of aggregate and learn completed production process!
- Operates and maintains equipment throughout the plant, including but not limited to, crushers, screens, conveyors, and heavy off-road equipment. (Hands on approach)
- Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with
Qualifications Required As Mining Intern
- Enrollment or achievement of a collegiate program preferably in the fields of Mining Engineering, Concrete Industry Management, Civil Engineering, General Engineering, Construction Management, or Materials Science required.Â
- Valid Driver’s License
In a typical work setting, people in this job:
