Summary : The Resident Escort assists with maintaining a safe resident transport to and from and within the Facility. This position requires providing service in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional / developmental age of the individual served. The Resident Escort / CNA in Training must be enrolled in an accredited CNA Certification Program at the time of hire and must pass the certification exam within 120 days of completing the course. Once the Resident Escort / CNA in Training completes the necessary competency portion of the course, the Resident Escort / CNA in Training can begin providing direct patient care under the supervision of a certified CNA and guidance of a licensed nurse.
Pay ranges by years of experience : $16.92- $24.57
Full time members who elect to decline benefits (holiday pay, PTO, and insurance) have the opprunity to add $3.00 to their base rate
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Passing hydration fluids to residents.
- Responding to call lights (supervised)
- Assisting the certified CNAs with resident care.
- Assists with lifting and moving residents for transfer and transport.
- Confirms resident readiness for transport and need for appropriate equipment and ensures that equipment is ready and available.
- Assists residents, whether ambulatory or non-ambulatory.
- Assists residents in designated smoking areas with distribution, lighting, and extinguishing cigarettes (in proper cigarette receptacles).
- Reports any changes in resident status / condition during transport.
- Removes and reports defective equipment to supervisor.
- Cleans, maintains and operates transport equipment and operates elevators to move or escort residents to and from various hospitals / doctor’s office, as directed, following established operating policies and procedures.
- Receives formal instruction / direction upon pick-up and provides formal hand-off report at destination, when not required to stay with resident.
- Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all residents, visitors and fellow employees.
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner and identifies and can be asked to correct unsafe work conditions with management oversight.
- Complies with all HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Attend in-service and training programs as designated.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Must be enrolled in a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant program at the time of hire in accordance with the laws of this state.
