This Senior/Executive Director position is based in Cambridge, MA, reporting to the VP of CNS Discovery. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in advancing groundbreaking modalities for the treatment of CNS diseases.
Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in developing BBB-crossing treatments to provide high-value programs in line with Simcere's portfolio strategy.
- Make strategic and quality decisions for the programs in alignment with Simcere’s management teams.
- Be responsible for crafting an innovative product profile and guiding decision-making by formulating outcome scenarios at critical data inflection points.
- Hold accountability for assembling and maintaining a motivated and high-performing program team, ensuring team members meet their expectations.
- Provide relevant input into other portfolio project teams when needed.
- Establish and cultivate cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Provide oversight to collaborative programs and maintain strong relationships with investigators and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the field, both nationally and internationally.
Requirements
- PhD, MD or MD/PhD in neuroscience or related fields, with 8 years of experience in blood-brain barrier (BBB) biology
- Must have – experience in leading a group to study the delivery of large molecules across the BBB in industrial or academic settings
- Strong knowledge of preclinical and translational research, as well as early clinical development, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, along with prior experience in leading organizations and guiding individuals through transformative changes
- Demonstrated success in building teams, leading and influencing experienced professionals and executives
- Ability to think critically, creatively and to anticipate and solve problems
