What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flight Simulator Technician I & II position at SIMCOM Aviation Training?
Division/Department: Simulator Engineering and Technical Services
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
Reports to: Manager, Site Maintenance
Work Schedule: Must be able to be flexible and work all shifts on an as needed basis.
Overtime as required, must be pre-approved by supervisor.
Employee's option to work either a (4) 10hr shift or (5) 8 hr shift for 40 hour work week.
Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Summary of duties and responsibilities:
Position provides technical support services required in maintaining flight simulators and other
related training devices. Responsibilities include providing preventive and corrective
hardware/software maintenance and fault diagnosis on training devices and related equipment.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
1. Develop technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions.
2. Performs task as replacing components, wring circuits, and repairing simple electronic
equipment.
3. Demonstrate proficiency in corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
4. Ability to utilize common test equipment.
5. Develop technical capabilities in simulator systems to include visual systems,
hydraulics/motion/flight controls, I/O and computer systems.
6. Develop the ability to assist customers in operation of simulators and instructor station
operation.
7. Develop competency in conducting simulator preflights and preparation of training devices for
customer training.
8. Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge/Skills:
1. Work toward advancing knowledge in hydraulic systems, mechanical operations, and computer
systems
2. Demonstrated competence in mechanical aptitude
Education/Training/Work Experience:
1. 2 Year Technical Degree in Electronics Technology or related field and/or related experience.
2. Completion of training program(s) on specialized training in a flight simulation related fiel
3. Completion of aircraft ground schools and assigned internal training program
4. 2 to 4 years in providing technical support on flight simulators or related equipment
Physical environment/working conditions:
Work conditions include exposure to heavy machinery and computer/office environments. Physical
environment will include working with hazardous materials such as hydraulic fluids an solvents.
Additional requirements would include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., sitting, standing bending,
stooping, or working in an elevated condition.
Equipment/machinery used:
Full flight simulators and other training devices manufactured by various companies. General
operational knowledge of office equipment such as facsimile, copier, personal computer, etc.
Salary : $27 - $32
