About the role
Simeon Global Consulting is seeking an Emergency Response Case Manager to assist flood-impacted individuals and families in Kentucky. This role will focus on ensuring efficient grant program implementation and compliance while providing compassionate and effective case management services to affected homeowners and survivors. The Case Manager will work closely with state and local agencies, FEMA, and community partners to deliver housing and financial assistance in a timely, transparent, and organized manner.
What you'll do
- Assist Kentucky flood survivors in applying for FEMA Individual Assistance (IA) housing and financial aid programs, ensuring they receive clear, step-by-step guidance through the application process.
- Provide case management services to flood-affected individuals, ensuring dignity, respect, and empathy in all interactions.
- Maintain accurate case records, ensuring efficient, transparent, and compliant program processing and tracking.
- Conduct eligibility reviews, validate survivor documentation, and ensure compliance with FEMA regulations.
- Attend meetings and conference calls with clients, homeowners, and recovery stakeholders.
- Stay informed on policy updates and apply state and federal program requirements effectively.
- Perform field visits and damage assessments, utilizing digital tracking and mapping tools to assess survivor needs.
- Coordinate with FEMA, state/local agencies, and nonprofit partners to maximize available resources and streamline recovery efforts.
- Train local emergency response teams and government officials on IA policy and best practices for maximizing assistance efficiency.
- Identify and escalate case management issues that require intervention, ensuring timely resolution.
- Deploy rapidly to disaster-affected areas to provide direct technical assistance and crisis housing solutions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in social services preferred.
- One year of case management and grant management experience required.
- Case management experience with housing programs preferred.
- At least one year of FEMA grant experience preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of FEMA Individual Assistance (IA) programs, including housing assistance and financial aid policies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex processes in an accessible manner.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to manage high caseloads efficiently.
- Ability to interpret and apply state and federal disaster recovery policies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced emergency response environment.
- Experience using case management software and digital tools to enhance disaster recovery operations.
- Familiarity with Kentucky’s local and state government structures, emergency response networks, and community resources.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive survivor and internal information.
- Willingness and ability to travel to affected areas and work extended hours as needed.
