What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Education - EMT Instructor, Part-Time position at Simi Valley Unified School District?
We are seeking a part-time substitute instructor(s) for our EMT Certificate Program. Each instructor will teach assigned topics within our semester long evening/weekend EMT program (20wks T/Th 6-9pm, plus 2 Sat per month 8am-4pm) and/or within our daytime accelerated EMT program (7 weeks M/T/W/F 4:30pm, Sat 8am-4pm). Our EMT course is offered twice per year (Fall, Spring Terms) & our accelerated EMT course is offered three times per year (Fall, Spring, Summer Terms). EMT students earn a certificate of completion that gives them eligibility to apply for the National Registry EMT Cognitive Exam. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
PROFESSIONAL EXPERT REQUIREMENTS
o Be an EMT or Advanced EMT who is currently certified in California OR Be a Physician, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Paramedic currently licensed in California.
o 1 years of relevant work experience on an ambulance or in emergency care, trauma, or critical care
CERTIFICATED TEACHER REQUIREMENTS
o Professional expert Qualifications above AND
o Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential: Public Services
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Hold an AA Degree or higher
o 5 years of relevant work experience
o 1 year teaching experience
