Project Engineer
1 BASIC FUNCTION
1.1 Work directly with an assigned Project Manager to master all elements of project management.
1.2 Under supervision of Project Manager, coordinate scope with Estimating Department for cost estimates, update schedules, maintain records, RFI’s, and process submittals.
2 JOB REQUIREMENTS

2.1 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
2.1.1 Preferred : Bachelor degree in Construction Management, or closely related field.
2.1.2 Preferred : Minimum of two years commercial construction experience in a Project Engineer position.
2.2 SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
2.2.1 General knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction of commercial buildings.
2.2.2 General knowledge of relevant Public Safety and Security regulations.
2.2.3 General knowledge of presentations, construction estimates, schedules and services.
2.2.4 Computer skill requirements include : MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point, Scheduling, and Accounting software.
2.2.5 Accurate estimating and math skills.
3 RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The responsibilities and duties of, but not necessarily limited to, the Project Engineer are :
3.1 Assist in maintaining project records, reviewing submittals for compliance with contract documents, project addendums, changes in scope, and architect supplemental instructions both at office an at JOB SITE.
3.2 Read and understand construction plans and specifications.
3.3 Help ensure construction project quality levels and protect reputation of the company
3.4 Confer with supervisors, contractors, and designers to resolve matters such as work procedures, design challenges and construction challenges.
3.5 Obtain building permits and licenses.
3.6 Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff.
3.7 Establish and maintain submittal schedule processing and transmitting submittal to owner representative and / or subcontractor / vendor.
3.8 Prepare and maintain reports as delegated and supervised by Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager.
3.9 Assist in Project Close-Out Process to include AS BUILTS, warrantees, guarantees, O&M manuals, test results, certifications, and Close-Out documents.
3.10 Order and track plans
3.11 Attend pre-construction meeting onsite / in office and other project meetings as needed.
3.12 Other duties as assigned.
