The Consumer Real Estate Underwriter I analyzes, evaluates, and approves credit applications on a direct and indirect basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and approving credit applications on a direct or indirect basis.
- Meets or communicates with dealers and customers regarding credit decisions and loan information.
- Inputs credit information into the Decision Pro System for analysis and evaluation.
- Monitors customer loan payments and takes necessary action to control past due accounts.
- Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memorandums.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and/or legal documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to respond in writing to customer complaints, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or its equivalent is required, and
- Two to four years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training.
Computer Skills
- MS Office programs
- Jack Henry Platform
Other Qualifications (including physical requirements)
- Knowledge of the requirements and features of loan products offered by the bank.
