The course will meet in person for 2 hours and 50 minutes once per week for a total of 14 sessions.

Course Description

Using a strengths-based and person-in-environment lens, this 3-credit social work course will provide an overview of the etiology, assessment, and treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the theoretical and empirical understandings of the development and maintenance of eating disorders, as well as practice assessment techniques, clinical diagnoses, and evidence-based interventions. In addition, related topics including socio-cultural determinants of health, body image, obesity, and nutrition will be discussed.
