ABOUT OPPORTUNITY
The Department of Politics and Policy in the Gwen Ifill School of Media, Humanities, and Social Science at Simmons University invites candidates to submit materials for a tenure- track assistant professor position in American politics.
We seek outstanding applicants with a demonstrated track record of effective teaching and scholarship. Multiple areas of expertise within the field of American politics will be considered, including American political institutions, political parties, elections, ideology, voting behavior, and public law. Applicants must be able to teach introduction to American politics, as well as a broad range of electives, including state and local government, Congress and the presidency, and constitutional law, among others. The ability to teach in our Masters of Public Policy program is preferred, though not required.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carrying a 6-course teaching load per academic year.
- Participating in the ongoing creation of explicit and implicit curricula in consultation with faculty and program leadership.
- Conducting research and scholarship.
- Demonstrate service to the department, school, and university through committee work.

The position will be a 10-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty appointment.
