Automotive Information Systems Associate

Description

The Automotive Information Systems Associate directs and coordinates activities related to the management, acquisition, installation, and maintenance of internal communications and information systems and related equipment. This role ensures the smooth operation of technology within the dealership, encompassing all systems, hardware, phones, scanners, and computers. This is a 40 hours per week, in-person role. 

Essential Duties: 

• System Oversight: Oversee the operation of the dealership-wide computer and phone systems and related peripherals. 

• Network Management: Establish, monitor, and maintain the dealership network environment, directories, and security. Ensure regular backups of all files and manage security and access rights. 

• Online Access Administration: Oversee the administration and updates of the dealership's online access systems. 

• Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge in the maintenance and operation of computer hardware, operating systems, and related software applications. 

• Staff Training: Instruct staff on the use of dealership and manufacturer computer systems to ensure effective utilization. 

• User Requirements Analysis: Study user requirements to ensure effective utilization of dealership systems. 

• Coordination: Coordinate equipment installation and maintenance activities with appropriate department managers to avoid disruption in communications and ensure operational efficiency. 

• MIS Support: Assist department heads with setting up and fully utilizing management information systems. 

• Documentation: Design, develop, and update computer-generated forms, manuals, management reports, and other requested items. 

• Hands-On Installation: Perform hands-on installation and maintenance of IT equipment, ready to roll up their sleeves to help where needed. 

• Meetings: Attend manager meetings to provide insights and updates on IT systems. 

• Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. 

• Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

• Proven experience in IT management and systems administration. 

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. 

• Effective communication and training skills to instruct staff on system use. 

• Ability to coordinate with various departments and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

• Self-starter with a creative approach to problem-solving and project management. 

• Excellent project management skills and ability to work independently. 

• Hands-on experience with equipment installation and maintenance, demonstrating a willingness to roll up their sleeves and help as needed. 

Work Environment: 

• This role operates in a professional dealership environment. 

• The role requires 40 hours per week, in-person attendance. 

• Occasional lifting of equipment and involvement in installation activities may be required. 

Support and Training: 

• The candidate will have access to support and training resources but is expected to be proactive and self-directed in managing their responsibilities. 

Salary : $20 - $30
