Position Summary:
The Industrial Electrician is an experienced technical position responsible for the caretaking and maintenance of the company’s electrical infrastructure, combustion controls, powered industrial systems, and power generation systems in both Quechee and Windsor, VT with periodic travel to Oakland, MD a few times per year.
The Industrial Electrician is an opportunity to play a lead role in a fast paced and growing manufacturing, warehousing and retail company. The Industrial Electrician takes ownership of all control systems, high voltage electrical systems, combustion systems, life safety systems, pneumatics, and motors, while also contributing to the design and maintenance of machines to support manufacturing processes. In addition, this position is a hands-on role in construction and maintenance of glass furnaces and pottery kilns. The successful candidate for this position must be highly organized; focused on preventative maintenance; have a machinist’s eye for quality; a sharp mechanical acumen; and an appreciation for a maker culture. The ideal candidate is willing to support other trades and work in any environment. The Industrial Electrician will be overseen by the Facilities Director, located in Vermont. The Industrial Electrician will be on-call approximately 50% of the time.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment
- Maintain all electronic controls associated with machinery, combustion and life safety systems
- Primary responsibility for a 400 kw hydro turbine (Quechee)
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems and diagnose issues with equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to install and maintain equipment.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Partner with managers to help enable their goals and accomplishments
- Help ensure compliance with, and lead, internal and external safety and process audits to ensure the safety, security and productivity of all employees
- Strive for continuous improvement
- Provide on-call support
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications Required:
- Licensing and certification as a journeyman or master electrician
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience with electrical systems, wiring, and equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to electrical work
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical discipline (preferred)
- Experience working in industrial settings such as factories, plants, or warehouses
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in a relevant role; and a track record that demonstrates positions of increasing responsibility and accomplishment
- Knowledge of PLC programming and control systems is a plus

- Physical Demands: from time to time lifting may be required up to 50 lbs. Extensive walking is required, along with the ability to get dirty and support maintenance staff if needed.
