Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Distribution Manager in running the day-to-day operations of the Mt Lake Park, MD warehouse to ensure efficient operations and a safe working environment. In the absence of the Distribution Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for running the day to day operations and decision making in the warehouse.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leads staff with emphasis on building a strong team in the spirit of the company values and culture including coaching, communicating and delegating responsibilities

• Assists the Distribution Manager with coordinating workflow and assigns employees to appropriate workstations

• Assists the Distribution Manager in hiring and ensuring employees are fully trained

• Assists the Distribution Manager in documenting employee performance, conducting annual reviews and other employment related issues

• Follows up on orders that are picked but not shipped

• Researches and corrects orders with errors by communicating with appropriate departments

• Communicates with call center operations, retail stores and wholesale division

• Assists the Distribution Manager in organizing pick locations in the warehouse to ensure efficiency

• Assists Distribution Manager with implementation of new processes and procedures

• Relays any daily challenges to Distribution Manager and collaborates for a solution

• Ensure facility cleanliness and safety

• Assists the Distribution Manager with shift coverage and adjusts hours for coverage on first and second shift.

• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications Required:

• High School Diploma or the equivalent

• Minimum of five years experience in distribution operations

• Strong computer skills including WMS and shipping systems, Excel, Google, and order and transfer processing systems

Qualifications Desired:

• Associate’s Degree preferred

• Prior supervisory experience preferred

• Lean operations experience a plus

• Must have flexibility to work weekends and holidays when business demands

• Frequent overtime

• Exposure to warehouse conditions including temperature variables. Can be very hot in summer and cold in winter
