PRIMARY PURPOSE :
The Database Developer is responsible for the overall design and development of databases that underly the business applications. The primary focus will be on business intelligence applications; but will also include other business-critical applications. Working with our DBA team, application developers, business analysts, and end users to understand their needs; you will build be responsible for database design and implementation. The Database Developer will also assist in performance tuning and troubleshooting issues related to the databases.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to :
- Works with the DBA team, application developers, business analysts and end users to understand needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Designs and implements databases including tables, views, stored procedures and other database objects.
- Troubleshoots issues with data and / or performance and recommends solutions.
- Serves as liaison between the application team and the DBA support team.
- Complies with corporate change management processes.
- Assists with data integration work.
- At times, assists with ETL and / or report development.
