PRIMARY PURPOSE:
We are looking for a talented graphic designer to join our in-house creative team responsible for building the Simon brand across multiple platforms. The ability to create visual solutions with a strong design aesthetic in layout and typography for both our offline and online paid and owned channels, including website, display, social, app and email marketing is essential. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a strong visual portfolio spanning personal projects and professional-level work that reflects an ability to conceptualize stylish, elevated ideas.
An online portfolio of work is required.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Create and produce eye-catching and compelling creative for a range of both digital and print marketing assets – including newspaper/magazine/signage/billboard ads, on-Mall collaterals, owned digital (email templates, websites, landing pages, organic social), paid digital advertising, direct mail, brochures and event collateral.
- Work within brand guidelines to produce and/or version various design templates
- Participate in design reviews and share your work regularly with the design team and department leadership
- Iterate fast, and work in a collaborative fashion with the design and marketing teams
- Ensure consistency in designs and content across all company platforms
- Produce and deliver compelling presentations of concepts and design work that support creative decisions with marketing-focused rationale and insight
- Engage in brainstorming sessions and constructive design critiques
- Foster strong working relationships with team members and cross-functional partners
- Be trend forward and bring new digital tools/thinking/technology to further improve creative touch points
- Ability to independently drive multiple projects at a time, meet tight deadlines, and to make fast edits and revisions based on feedback from stakeholders
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: 5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably at an agency or in-house at a brand (fashion, retail and/or consumer goods experience preferred). Strong digital-first mindset and experience.
- Education: BFA or equivalent education in graphic design.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma (or similar), and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint). Skills in Motion design and Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects preferred.
- Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative skills, including digital, print, and branding projects.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Client interaction a plus.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts and receive feedback constructively.
- Creative Vision: Ability to conceptualize and execute designs that balance business objectives with artistic creativity. Excellent visual communication and art direction, storyboarding and visualization
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in the execution of design elements, from typography to layout and color.
- Work Ethic: Must be highly motivated and independent with a proven ability to be an enthusiastic team player. Strong ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon various factors, including an individual’s skills, experience and qualifications and the geographic location of the job. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at the top end of the pay range.
