Summary
The Team Lead of Cybersecurity Operations is responsible for overseeing the cybersecurity operations and leading a team of cybersecurity professionals. This role involves developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the organization’s information systems and data.
Challenges and Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of cybersecurity professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Foster collaboration and teamwork within the team.
Security Operations:
- Oversee developing and maintaining cybersecurity operations processes, standards, and architectures.
- Manage relationship and service level agreements with security vendors and a third-party security operations center (SOC).
- Direct assessments of mixed platform environments, including systems, networks, databases, and applications.
- Lead change management, operational readiness, and performance delivery for cybersecurity solutions.
Engineering and Operations:
- Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures to protect the organization’s data, systems, and networks.
- Troubleshoot security and network problems.
- Lead technical response to any system or network security incidents.
- Work to strengthen the organization's cybersecurity posture through security system enhancements and additions.
Skills and Requirements
- Proficient in security technologies and tools.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of security professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with various operating systems commonly deployed in enterprise networks.

Experience
- Relevant degree (e.g., Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Engineering, Education, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GIAC, SANS, CISM, GCIA, II, IAT, CSSP-A, or CISA are desirable.
- Five plus years of cybersecurity engineering or operations experience.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, incident management, and response protocols.
