What you'll do:
- Support procurement of materials & services for jobs to meet assigned schedule, including ability to set, or adjust, priorities on multiple factors
- Evaluate existing vendors to make appropriate selections of products or services required
- Follow policies & procedures as well as ensure adherence to them internally & externally
- Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance
- Arrange occasional material or equipment transfers using established parcel or carrier options
- Establish, build & maintain relationships with suppliers
- Participate in review of new vendor contracts or agreements & manage existing ones
- Contribute to inventory control, protecting the company from excess supply while avoiding shortages
- Utilize reports or compile data to monitor active services, spending trends, insurance status or other aspects to initiate action toward cost savings & optimal results
- Analyze opportunities to change supplies, services or vendors to reduce costs, improve quality or reduce leadtime including negotiated pricing, contracts &/or payment terms
- Investigate discrepancies & non-conformances with suppliers, as well as internally, to solve issues that may cross departments for payables, billables or other aspects
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field is preferred or 2 plus years of experience of relevant purchasing experience
- Strong clerical & organizational skills to successfully maintain critical details in shared environments
- Task oriented individual possessing the ability to work without close supervision
- Effective oral & written communication skills, including efficient email etiquette
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft windows environment, especially Excel
