Gallery Books is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Publishing Assistant to support the Publisher’s Office. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the publishing process while working across multiple imprints, including Gallery, Scout Press, 13A, Lemonada Books, and Threshold Editions.

Gallery Books is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Publishing Assistant to support the Publisher’s Office. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the publishing process while working across multiple imprints, including Gallery, Scout Press, 13A, Lemonada Books, and Threshold Editions.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to publisher's office, reporting to the VP Deputy Publisher and the Associate Publisher.
- Schedule and prepare materials for seasonal, monthly and weekly meetings on behalf of our imprints: Gallery, Scout Press, 13A, Lemonada Books, and Threshold Editions
- Work with Editorial, Marketing, Publicity, and Art to gather materials and adhere to seasonal deadlines
- Create, maintain, and distribute key reports and meeting agendas for the Publisher’s office
- Retrieve and prepare sales and distribution data weekly
- Attend and take notes for multiple weekly meetings
- Assist in preparing publisher's letters for select titles
- Serve as back-up support to the assistant of the SVP/Publisher
- Oversee galley distribution quantities
- Track eBook discounting promotions and maintain Excel grid
- Research trends across backlist titles and update metadata including keywords, descriptive copy, and BISACs to maximize sales opportunities
- Track jackets/covers in progress weekly and prepare status updates for the Publisher’s Office
- Perform routine clerical responsibilities for the Publisher’s Office such as taking messages, mailings, processing expense reports, etc.
