The Senior Production Editor will manage print and digital titles through the production process from manuscript through bound book or eBook release, working closely with production, managing editorial, editorial, design, and digital to ensure titles are produced accurately and on schedule; hiring freelance copyeditors, proofreaders, and indexers and evaluating their work; managing schedules of each title in our in-house tracking system; copyediting and proofreading cover copy and other ancillary material for each title; coding and deflagging manuscripts and preparing for design and typesetting.
Requirements :
- Five to seven years of experience in trade book production editorial
- Fully skilled in use of Word with track changes for copyediting, coding, and deflagging manuscripts; fully skilled in use of Adobe Acrobat for digital markup, proofing, collating, and page checking
- Ability to review copyediting on paper and proofreading both on paper and onscreen
- Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
- Comfortable on a Mac
