What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Operations Analyst position at Simon & Schuster?
The Business Operations Group is looking for an Analyst, preferably with a minimum of one year’s experience, to support Simon & Schuster's Business Operations and Inventory Management functions. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Business Operations, this position’s responsibilities and tasks include:
· Tracks and analyzes customer financial sales programs
· Assists in delivery of financial analyses and financial forecasts to the business office and senior management working together with the Sales department
· Provides ad hoc and regular reporting for various groups including Sales, Business Operations and Order Management
· Assists with process documentation and database maintenance
· Provide daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reporting and analysis as needed for both Simon & Schuster’s wholly owned and distribution client publishers
· Participates in overstock review processes, including providing reporting and product disposition reviews
· Analyzes remainder bid pricing
· Conducts returns analysis, audits, and manages title-level returns dispositions
· Supports and provides analyses for special projects for both the Inventory and Business Operations Groups
Required Skills:
One year work experience preferred; detail oriented with strong interpersonal & computer skills; strong task prioritization and follow-up skills; ability to multi-task & handle a diverse range of issues; proficiency with Microsoft Excel skills required; Access, IBM Cognos and basic SQL a plus; BA/BS required. The ideal candidate is naturally inquisitive, a problem solver and develops the ability to work independently.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
