Job Summary :
Operates a commercial vehicle to transport aggregate materials (soil, sand, gravel, asphalt, etc.) to and from specifieddestinations : performs other related duties as assigned in support of material production and construction operations.
Main Responsibilities :
- Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
- Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections on truck to ensure vehicle operation safety
- Ensure safe operation of vehicle; document and report required maintenance and / or repair to maintenance team
- Follow procedures to safely operate vehicle, including securing cargo before, during, and after transit, and positioning blocks as required
- Keep a clean vehicle, including vehicle exterior and interior of operator cab
- Safely operate assigned vehicle(s); may be required to operate multiple types of vehicles and vehicle / trailer combinations involved in operations
- Observe all OSHA, FMCSA, and other industry regulations, company safety policies, and general rules of the road
- Assist in loading and unloading of materials in truck / trailer bed; may include operation of heavy equipment (including but not limited to a skid steer, loader, or similar)
- Prepare bill of lading and / or similar documentation for loads transported
- Maintain accurate documentation related to job assignments as required by the Company
- Maintain regular contact with supervisor to receive pick-up and delivery instructions
- Maintain driver logs according to state and federal regulations
- Perform other projects and duties related to role as assigned
