What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at SIMONA America?
The Maintenance Technician will conduct machine setup, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance service.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine services.
Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of extrusion processing machines.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
Detects faulty operations, defective material and reports these and any unusual situations to proper supervisor.
Maintains clean and orderly work areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Technical School education.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking.
Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
Must be able to visually inspect machines.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Training Requirements:
General Safety; Lock-out Tag-out; HAZMAT; Forklift Safety; Electrostatic Discharge Awareness; Foreign Object Damage Awareness; Quality System Awareness.
