Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Primary Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical, hands-on role in supporting plant uptime and performance. This 100% floor-based position is responsible for responding to equipment breakdowns, executing preventive maintenance, and assisting with project work. A key part of this role involves troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and PLC-based control systems in real time to reduce downtime and keep operations running efficiently.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Real-Time Equipment Support & Troubleshooting
Respond quickly to breakdowns and restore production.
Diagnose issues with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Troubleshoot PLC I/O and instrumentation issues.
Collaborate with operators to identify root causes and implement fixes.
Support production start-ups and changeovers.
PLC and Electrical Control Support
Diagnose and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other control components.
Utilize tools such as Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000 for system troubleshooting.
Support control panel builds and equipment upgrades.
Install conduit, pull wire, and terminate Ethernet and control cables.
Preventive Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
Perform scheduled PMs with a focus on equipment reliability.
Own specific PM areas and continuously improve them.
Log maintenance activity accurately in the CMMS system.
Recommend and support long-term corrective actions for recurring issues.
Project & Fabrication Work
Assist with machinery installs and facility improvement projects.
Perform light welding and fabrication to support safety and efficiency upgrades.
Safety & Communication
Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Participate in daily shift meetings and communicate status updates.

Qualifications & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
4 years of industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing preferred)
Experience with PLCs and industrial electrical systems
Familiarity with RSLogix 5000 or similar software preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical)
Basic welding and fabrication experience
Experience with CMMS systems and data entry
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and Root Cause Analysis is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to be on your feet for extended periods
Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
Crouch, bend, kneel, twist, and reach as needed
Climb ladders and perform work at heights
Use hands and tools with full range of motion
Stay alert and respond quickly to changing plant conditions
Available to work 40 hours/week, including overtime as required
