Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety by addressing unsafe acts, behaviors, or conditions immediately. Ensure compliance with procedures, including required PPE, and report violations, concerns, or accidents. Participate in investigations and complete documentation promptly.
- Provide clear instructions to employees on shift activities. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate safety concerns, productivity updates, quality issues, and schedule changes.
- Support production by assisting Extrusion Operators and Process Technicians with troubleshooting and accurate data entry. Monitor efficiency, quality, and adherence to work instructions.
- Maintain quality standards by ensuring proper checks, SPC documentation, and adherence to procedures. Communicate necessary changes.
- Promote housekeeping throughout the facility.
- Drive continuous improvement by working on safety, quality, efficiency, scrap reduction, and change-over time reduction projects.
- Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance concerns.
- Handle HR-related duties, including policy enforcement, attendance tracking, disciplinary action, documentation, performance reviews, and coaching.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience:
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing (preferably plastic extrusion). An engineering or technical background is a plus. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
- Quick learner with the ability to give clear direction, motivate employees, and reinforce positive performance.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, using systems for feedback and accountability.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Formal problem-solving skills (e.g., 5 Whys, cause & effect diagrams) are a plus.
- Willing to work afternoon/evening shifts with flexibility for weekends as needed based on production demands.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must wear proper PPE while on the manufacturing floor.
- Able to be on the factory floor for extended periods, potentially the entire shift.
- Physical requirements:
- Climb stairs, crouch, bend, stand, and stay alert.
- Lift, pull, push, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Perform maintenance tasks requiring standing, bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, or twisting.
- Use full range of motion in arms, hands, and fingers for grasping, pushing, pulling, and tool work.
- Coordinate limb movement (e.g., arms and legs together) while remaining in place.
- Make repeated full-body movements and react quickly.
- Work schedule: 40 hours per week to support manufacturing needs.
