What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development and Technical Sales Representative position at Simoneau & Sterling Midwest Corp.?
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE is responsible for operating an individual sales territory, within the Midwest to existing and new clients, to yield profitable sales and sales growth. In collaboration with our engineering and sales teams (from all the offices to capture technical information and knowledge), he.she develops and maintains customer relationship through ongoing business development and sales.
More specifically, he.she will have to:
- Assist the Branch Manager in a sales strategy based on current and new business partners;
- Generate and execute opportunities in our existing client base and in the assigned accounts to meet or exceed sales targets;
- Make sure the team is providing technical support and solutions to customers on represented products, equipment and services;
- Proactively call and visit existing and new clients to research needs, relationship management, follow-ups, etc.;
- Continuously search for RFQ through major web sites (including SAM, Bid Ocean, Other RFQ Sites.);
- Actively sell and support Simoneau innovations and technology with clients to promote long term partnerships;
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders in Midwest market including plant or facility executives;
- Responsible for the preparation and submittal of quotes to existing and new clients;
- Meet deadlines and establish an appropriate priority level of assigned tasks to ensure customers satisfaction;
- Attend industry events and trade shows;
- Work on after-sales support services and provide technical back up as required;
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on sales activity;
- Any other mandates requested by the Branch Manager.
The person we are looking for will have the profile corresponding to the following skills:
Technical Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or College Diploma with complementary experience;
- 3-5 years experience in commercial, industrial, institutional mechanical systems related to boilers controls and combustion equipment;
- Significant experience in technical sales and customer relations;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite;
- Instrumentation, controls, and electrical experience (asset).
