The Facilities Maintenance Technician position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Facility Maintenance performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and respond to requests for overall general maintenance and cleanliness of the SimonMed facilities. (Mostly Arizona with possible out of state travel.)
- Direct and complete general maintenance tasks as specified by work orders or verbal requests.
- Hang equipment, move furniture and equipment, maintain all facilities,
- During inclement weather may assist with outside maintenance tasks such as shoveling and sanding.
- Paint, light bulb maintenance, etc.
- General upkeep practices
- May be required to:
- Respond to emergency equipment problems and repair
- Facilitate as directed third party repairs as needed. This includes, but not limited to, minor plumbing repairs such as water leaks and plugged sinks and toilets, minor clean-up of spills, minor carpentry, etc.
- Regulate heating and cooling thermostats throughout the buildings according to established guidelines and coordinate such with HVAC contractor.
- Minor repairs on HVAC equipment (belts, filters, etc.)
- Respond to fire alarms according to established procedures.
- Respond to requests for supplies, furniture and equipment from off-site storage facilities.
- Remove excess trash, assists in breaking down excess cardboard for recycling.
- All other requests and duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services while providing excellent customer service.
- Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.
- Adheres to policies, procedures, guidelines relative to departmental operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a high school diploma / GED and 3 years of experience in building maintenance or in a related area
- Must have 3 years’ experience in commercial building maintenance, including materials, means and methods of construction.
- Valid Arizona drivers’ license and clean MVR.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift and move supplies, furniture, equipment and so forth weighing up to 60 pounds
- Ability to push and pull equipment, furniture, supplies and the like.
- Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential.
