Job Description
Position : Database Engineer
Location : Anchorage, AK - Remote-friendly, with a preference for local candidates.
Duration : 6 months (possible contract to hire)
Primary Responsibilities :
- Install, maintain, and perform performance tuning of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Develop and deploy SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Conduct daily and weekly maintenance checks, performance tuning, and security audits of production databases.
- Set up new servers, potentially including Microsoft Windows Server configuration.
- Perform database tuning, integrity checks, and review scheduled jobs.
Work closely with the IT department and other database engineers.
Secondary Responsibilities :
Familiarity with PostgreSQL (PG SQL) is a plus but not mandatory.
Skills and Qualifications :
Experience working remotely is highly desirable.

Ability to document changes and configurations clearly. Responsive to team and project needs. Work Environment : Collaborates closely with IT department and database engineers. Reports directly to John and interacts with other key personnel for project requirements.
