Your role
We are seeking an experienced, Real Estate Paralegal to assist with residential files in our Worcester, MA office. Our ideal candidate is a customer-focused, organized individual with attention to detail. The candidate must be able to develop and maintain a good working, professional relationship with colleagues, clients and referral sources.
This is a new position, created as a result of growth, and there is clear potential for growth in the company for the right individual. We have a collaborative, energetic team that work autonomously with support. You will report directly to the owners of the company. This is a full time, in-office position, working with the rest of our Paralegal team - a collaborative, supportive group of people!
We are continually refining and streamlining our processes, and we're looking for team members that are excited to do the same.
Responsibilities
- Reviews title commitment to make sure all information is in file
- Solicits/researches financial and other pertinent information to move file to closing
- Partners with outside attorneys for documents that they may be providing for a transaction
- Reviews purchase and sale agreement and any addendums to make sure everything matches closing disclosure
- Reviews payoffs, taxes and insurance for accuracy and interest good to dates
- Communicates and coordinates with buyers, sellers, lenders and all involved parties to produce final closing statements
- Provides closing figures to all involved parties and answers any open questions to ensure a smooth closing
- Prepares closing documents and final checks/financial information for transactions
- Coordinates closing date and time with buyers, borrowers, sellers, brokers and lenders and our schedule
- Prepares and sends by-mail closing packages, when applicable
- Confirms wire instructions via phone
Requirements
- Customer service driven, positive attitude
- Excellent/strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- 5 years experience in the industry
- Experience in Qualia a huge plus!
