Simplicit Business Services is an outsourced accounting, finance, and strategic business partner for small- to medium-sized clients in various industries across the country. We are looking to expand our team to include tax services starting with the Q1 2025 tax season.
We are looking for a Tax Consultant to serve as the trusted expert in all things related to taxes, especially business and personal income tax returns and filing. We expect this position to begin as part-time and seasonal, but eventually grow with more clientele and tax advising needs.
Duties:
- Assist clients in preparing and filing their tax returns accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Advise clients on effective tax planning strategies to minimize their tax liabilities and optimize their financial situation. This includes providing guidance on deductions, credits, and other tax-saving opportunities.
- Ensure clients are in compliance with tax laws and regulations, and representing them during tax audits by government authorities.
- Conduct thorough research on current and emerging tax laws, regulations, and rulings, and analyzing their impact on clients' financial situations.
- Meet with clients to understand their financial goals and needs, and providing tailored tax advice and solutions.
- Review and analyze financial documents such as income statements, balance sheets, and investment records to ensure accurate and complete tax reporting.
- Assist clients in resolving tax-related issues, such as disputes with tax authorities, filing amendments to previous tax returns, and negotiating settlements.
- Advise businesses on tax-efficient structures and transactions to achieve their financial objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation preferred, or prior experience working for CPA firm
- Strong knowledge of financial services and tax regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Note: Prior experience in tax preparation, accounting, or related roles is required.
