Summary for Buyer / Planner Role:
Seeking a detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to manage MRP requirements, place purchase orders, and ensure timely material availability for production and shipping schedules. This Buyer/Planner role involves creating and distributing POs, monitoring their status, and supporting various departments.
Description
As a Buyer/Planner, you will:
- Review MRP requirements and place purchase orders.
- Ensure on-time delivery and confirm receipt of purchase orders.
- Expedite or delay orders as needed.
- Liaise between suppliers and internal teams.
- Handle non-conforming parts and coordinate returns/disposals.
- Monitor supplier pricing changes and recommend adjustments.
- Manage safety stock, minimum order quantities, and lot sizes.
- Handle ECOs and provide cost/inventory impact analyses.
- Develop and monitor performance programs and report results.
- Utilize inventory, manufacturing, engineering, and financial systems.
- Achieve cost savings while meeting inventory turn requirements.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; APICS or SCM certification a plus.
- Experience: 2-5 years in purchasing; understanding of production control/planning (MRP); proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). International purchasing experience and familiarity with technical/machined parts are advantages.
- Skills: Initiative, problem-solving, critical thinking, attention to detail, and customer service excellence.
