Telecommunications Repair/Service Technician

Simplii is a hosted VoIP (Voice over IP) phone service provider in Sandy, Utah, United States, that is looking for a qualified technical support specialist. This is a local on-site, in office, opportunity. If you are a local resident to the area, and are qualified in the following areas, please submit your resume. Must have good people skills, good professional skills, be punctual and have a valid driver license and legal means of transportation. Be able to pass a background check for Data Center access (if applicable). Also able to pass a drug test if required by company. Also, it is preferable to have extensive knowledge and experience in the following suggested areas:

Routers: Cisco, Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, and others

Switches: Cisco, Layer 3 and Layer 2 switches of all makes

PC's: Windows (all new OS's), MAC's a plus, hardware and troubleshooting

Servers: Linux CentOS and Ubuntu, Windows Server Versions

VoIP Phones: Polycom, Cisco, Yealink, Grandstream, Linksys, etc.

Softphones: Linphone, Bria, Zoiper, etc.

Legacy phone lines: Copper, Alarm, Fax, Credit Card, etc.

Paging Systems: Valcom, 70V, 8ohm, etc.

Networking: Routing, BGP Peering, VPN, VLAN, NAT, Network setup and troubleshooting, IPV4, Addressing, etc.

WiFi: AP setup and test, regular and guest accounts

Carrier Circuits: DSL, T1, Fiber, Satellite, Cable, Copper, etc.

Wiring/Cabling: Cat5e, Cat6, Patch Panels, Wall Jacks, Cable running/termination/testing, data racks, etc.

Tools: Expected to have most of your own tools. A Laptop, Ladder, and some other tools are provided by company. (Discussed in interview process)

Experience: At least 2 years experience in the above areas of knowledge.

Must be physically able to do the work. Cabling, crawling under desks, climbing ladders, etc.

Responsibilities:

After Hours Work: On Call every 4th - 5th weekend, and one night a week. Also periodically required to work on projects that are long hours and after hours.

Qualifications:

Additional Job Requirements: Education: At least a High School Diploma or Equivalent, and Additional Certification Training and/or Certifications in the above areas of knowledge. College or Technical schooling a plus.
