What You'll Do
As the manager of SimpliSafe's Cloud Video team, you will help build and maintain the backend systems that empower customers to interact with their home security cameras from anywhere in the world.
We're looking for a motivated, experienced Software Engineering Manager to help lead the team in building and maintaining large-scale video solutions. Our systems need to balance the competing needs of both recorded video and real-time streaming. The safety of our customers is important, and as such our key pillars are security, reliability, simplicity, and performance.
Primary Responsibilities Include
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and upcoming business priorities.
- Guide the team in breaking down work, ensuring we're delivering value quickly and incrementally.
- Ensure the team is striking a balance between delivering new features and maintaining the health of our technology, ensuring customers can always count on our performance, reliability and security.
- Manage the engineers on the team, providing real-time feedback and helping them grow in their careers.
- Ensure we're maintaining high technical standards through code reviews and direct mentoring.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on this and adjacent teams to ensure there's a cohesive vision and roadmap for our systems.
