Summary
The Procurement Category Manager will focus on Category planning, sourcing activities, and establishing a long-term (1-3 year) strategic category plan for MRO initiatives across Simplot’s global Food Group manufacturing locations. He or She will be expected to maintain a continuous portfolio pipeline to instill procurement processes across the assigned category landscape, and drive value across the enterprise for the assigned projects. This strategy development work is done in partnership with various business unit stakeholders across all global Food Group manufacturing facilities. Category strategies include spend analysis / mapping, external market analysis, “should cost” analysis, vendor and supply management, and inventory optimization. He or She will also lead sourcing projects based on the category strategy and on-demand projects from the respective stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops category plan and project portfolio for moderately sized MRO projects with mid to high-level critically and complexity.
- Builds strong stakeholder relationships to prioritize and deliver on portfolio projects.
- Manages strategic vendor relationships and performance to ensure delivery of service, quality, cost and supply commitments.
- Lead sourcing projects including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract development.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
Relevant Experience
Experience in corporate MRO programs
