Summary
This role will primarily be supporting the Area Financial Services Manager – Special Credit, focusing on collections, working with outside counsel on legal and bankruptcy matters and managing the Collection Agency activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact debtors via telephone, email, or in person to discuss overdue payments and negotiate payment arrangements.
- Monitoring and tracking overdue accounts, documenting all collection efforts, and updating account information as needed
- Negotiating payment plans or settlements with customers based on their financial situation while adhering to company policies and guidelines
- Follow up with debtors to ensure timely payment of outstanding debts
- Collaborate with other team members to develop effective debt recovery strategies
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Prepare and submit reports on collection activities and progress to management
- Providing excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns promptly and professionally, and working to resolve issues to the satisfaction of both the customer and the company
- Reconcile customer accounts and receivable balances
- Collaborating with outside attorneys with ongoing legal collection matters
- Document all collection activity in the ERP system, including follow up dates
- Handle customer and internal relations diplomatically and firmly when required and conduct business affairs with uncompromising honesty.

Typical Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

5 years related experience and / or training
