Summary
The Wet End Mechanic 2 is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing the equipment and machinery associated with wet-end processes in a manufacturing or production facility. This role ensures operational efficiency, reliability, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The Mechanic Process diagnoses processing equipment problems, repairs minor and major breakdown of processioning equipment, performs preventative maintenance items, improves line efficiencies and ensures all equipment is in safe working condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance : Perform routine and preventive maintenance on wet-end process machinery, including pumps, agitators, piping systems, valves, and other related equipment.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs : Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures to minimize downtime.
- System Optimization : Assist in monitoring and adjusting equipment to maintain efficient and quality production processes.
- Installation & Upgrades : Participate in the installation of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and part replacements in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Safety & Compliance : Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, identifying and reporting potential hazards. Follow environmental and regulatory standards applicable to wet-end processes.
- Collaboration : Work closely with production operators, engineers, and other maintenance team members to ensure smooth operations and address any issues proactively.
Typical Education
Education : High school diploma or GED required. Technical or vocational training in mechanics, hydraulics, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within wet-end processes (e.g., pulp and paper, chemical, or similar industries).
Knowledge of pumps, agitators, piping systems, and other wet-end equipment.
