ADULT COUNSELOR POSITION
Simply Hope is a Non-Profit Family Outreach, a Teen Center, and Safe Teen Assessment Center. Our services are geared towards providing support, guidance, and education to families, adults and teens. Our mission is to create a safe and positive environment where families and teens can thrive, and to empower them with the tools they need to reach their full potential.
We are a Tier II facility providing access to free counseling services within Cassia and Minidoka County and surrounding areas. Focusing on adult recovery counseling and family relationships.
Position Overview:
The Counselor will provide therapeutic services to adults facing substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and other behavioral health challenges. This position involves conducting assessments, facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, and collaborating treatment plans to help clients achieve and maintain long term goals. The Counselor will work closely with the case management team and other staff to ensure holistic support for each client.
Key Responsibilities:
-Adherence to Healthcare Code of Ethics
-Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients’ needs, strengths, and challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support recovery and address co-occurring disorders.
-Provide one-on-one counseling and facilitate group therapy focused on mental health, substance use, and life skills.
-Collaborate with case managers, peer recovery coaches, and external providers to coordinate client care.
-Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary.
-Maintain accurate records of client progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all ethical standards.
-Use evidence-based practices in substance use and mental health treatment.
-Integrate lived experience into therapeutic approaches when appropriate to foster trust and rapport with clients.
Qualifications/Preferences:
-Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
-Licensed or eligible for licensure as a counselor (LPC, LCSW, LMHC, LCPC,LMFT) in the state of Idaho.
-Familiarity with trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as CBT or DBT.
-Experience working with diverse populations
-Flexibility to adapt or adjust therapeutic approaches to meet client needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $39.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
