Position Overview:
Simply Salad is looking for a rockstar Shift Lead to join the team and assist with the daily operations at our Ladera Heights location. As the Shift Lead, you will help lead a high-energy team to deliver excellent customer service and execute on our vision to be a diverse, high-performance Company and culture. We are a company that believes our people are our most important ingredient (even more so than our fresh greens from local California farms) and the ability to develop leaders will be a critical component to success.
You will serve as a key leader of the operations team and provide valuable input as we scale our organization. This position will report to the General Manager and will collaborate closely with the rest of the store leadership team.
This position is restaurant-based and candidates must have the ability to work an open schedule to flex with business needs, which can include weekends, nights, holidays & additional days.
What You’ll Do:
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Assists with overseeing the daily staff schedules including ensuring compliance with meal breaks policies, authorizing overtime & calling in temporary staff if needed. Assists with coaching conversations, team building & performance evaluations & reports progress/issues to GM. Assists with the hiring process and trains restaurant staff.
- Oversees food preparation, ensuring product quality & freshness and compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards and reporting progress/issues to the GM.
- Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience.
- Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner, including gathering data on comments, customer feedback & service/food quality for GM.
- Assists GM manage food & beverage costs along with predictive forecasting of business levels.
- Reports all inventory and supply needs to the GM.
- Reports restaurant and equipment maintenance & compliance issues to the GM. Assist in scheduling of repairs.
- Maintains sales records and tracks cash receipts/deposits and reports issues to GM.
- Prepares and submits operations reports and other documentation requested by GM & senior leadership.
- Acts as a role model & brand ambassador for the company.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Our Rockstar Will Have:
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership & organizational skills with a focus on customer service.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback & to work collaboratively with GM to identify & facilitate needed system & process improvements.
- Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Have the ability to work a 40 hour work week with an open schedule to flex with business needs, which can include overtime, weekends, nights, holidays & additional days.
The Basics:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, including strong verbal, written & math skills
- Previous restaurant experience required; management experience preferred.
- Successful completion of corporate training program required.
- Valid food handler’s certification.
