Simply Smiles Family Dental is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team. This is the perfect role for someone that is skilled in customer service and communication and wants to be part of a practice that is patient focused. Our on-the-job training will give you hands-on dental experience and perfect your assisting skills with a locally owned office that offers ongoing development and future career path opportunities. In this role, you will work side by side with our amazing team to provide the best possible patient care to our local community.

Minimum Qualifications-
People Person: you like making patients feel comfortable, listen to their needs, educate them on their dental health and procedures, and can provide clear, understandable explanation of treatment plans and post-op dental procedures when needed. And you’re pleasant to work with and demonstrate a professional personality and appearance.
Team player: you respect everyone’s role in making our busy office keep humming. And if you see someone that needs help, you’re likely to jump in and give a hand. You will have a part in creating an environment that is characterized by trust and openness, quality and professionalism, honesty and reliability.
Organizer: we like to keep our schedule on time. That means you have to be one, maybe two steps ahead of the hygienist. You know how to maintain efficient systems to keep things running smoothly in back.
Communicator: you should possess exceptional written and verbal skills (with patients, team members and over the phone), a working knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology, and can share your expertise with our patient family in a way that they can understand and apply.
Coachable: you like learning and implementing new systems and are able to adapt to change for the greater good of the practice.
Dependable and Reliable: you need to come to work, be on time, and give your best.
Additional Desired Skills, Abilities and Characteristics:
- Dental assisting certificate and experience is preferred.
- Experience in assisted hygiene and expanded function certifications will make you stand out!

Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment.
- Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care.
- Provide superior assistance to support the doctor and hygienists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act.
- Assist with setting up rooms for all dental visits including stocking and restocking instruments and supplies.
- Utilize Curve software for patient scheduling and record keeping.
- Prepare treatment rooms with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations.
- Partner with the providers and team to follow office systems and maximize office workflow.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
