Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cath Lab Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This position requires a strong understanding of cardiology, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, including preparation and monitoring of patients.
Perform and document vital signs and patient assessments before, during, and after procedures.
Ensure all equipment is properly set up, maintained, and sterilized according to aseptic techniques.
Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Utilize telemetry systems for continuous monitoring of patients' heart rhythms.
Maintain accurate records of procedures performed and assist in the management of lab inventory.
Stay current with advancements in cardiology practices and technologies relevant to the Cath Lab environment.
Experience
Previous experience in a Cath Lab or similar clinical setting is preferred.
Familiarity with radiology practices and sonography techniques is advantageous.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to cardiology and trauma care (Level I & II Trauma Centers).
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
