Director, Full Stack Engineering (Individual Contributor)

Fidelity Investments Workplace Solutions (WS) organization is seeking a highly experienced engineer who will play a key role in modernizing and building new capabilities in the cloud. You will leverage modern agile development practices and architecture patterns. You will be working closely with diverse team of technologists who believe in power of innovation and collaboration and are motivated by operating at fast speed.

You will be part of the technology team in Stock Plan Services business unit that administers equity compensation programs on behalf of public and private companies offering various compensations programs such as : Employee Stock Purchase Plans, Restricted Stock Awards / Units, Stock Option Plans, Stock Appreciation Rights and Performance based Awards. Currently SPS services approx. 2.5M participants employed by over 600 clients and spread out in 150 countries. The business is looking to further expand in the international equity compensation markets as well as private markets. We are modernizing all the capabilities and building new capabilities in the cloud.

While this position has a title of Director, Full Stack Engineering, you will not be responsible for managing a team. This position is an individual contributor role where you will be expected to be very hands on from a technical perspective.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.
• 15 years of demonstrable experience in full stack programming building scalable web applications
• Solid experience with Java Spring based frameworks and libraries preferably Spring boot
• Working with public cloud and cloud based technologies with Microsoft Azure preferred
• Hands on experience working with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka or Service Bus
• Building applications working with databases like Oracle, Postgres etc.
• Experience building and consuming REST API based integration and microservices architecture
• Understanding and experience working with CI / CD processes and tools such as Jenkins
• Experience with software application testing approaches and tools like jUnit, Cucumber, Selenium
• Experience with Chaos Testing and other SRE practices for building highly resilient cloud based software applications
• Experience designing and developing applications in microservices architecture
• Passion for engineering excellence and continuous improvement via collaboration and willingness to learn
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to understand complex customer needs and transactions
• Experience guiding and leading other junior engineers on sound design and engineering practices
• Ability to learn and experiment with new technologies and patterns
