Qualifications
Masters in Social Work or Counseling and a current LCSW / LPC are required. Experience in providing psychotherapy. A genuine desire for forensic clinical services and a comfort in moving about within the county jail system.
Responsibilities
Provides individual counseling for adults involved in the criminal justice system.
Conduct the evaluation to assess, or where appropriate, render, a mental health diagnosis and to determine whether the consumer is clinically and case management appropriate, and what, if any services the consumer can be linked with.
Determine whether or not consumers are eligible for the Morris County Prosecutors Mental Health Diversion Program based upon their clinical evaluations.
Screen and complete intake assessments for new clients.
Complete mental health assessments and evaluations within the county jail.
Connect clients with community resources and referral, as needed.
Coordinate treatment with Program Director and Forensic Case Managers.
Draft and maintain treatment plans with consumers.
Record keeping as required by funding sources thorough the electronic clinical record software, and / or accreditation agencies.
Must meet all expected productivity levels, in regard to direct service provision to consumers. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
