Applies appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to individual patient health information for data retrieval, analysis, and claims processing. Works all coding associated work queues including error files. Work in conjunction with the business office for coding issues to facilitate claims processing.
Medical coding certificate from college or technical school; or two years or more related coding experience. AHIMA or AAPC (American Association of Professional Coders) certificate specifically related to CPC (outpatient) for both professional & facility coding.
