Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities :
Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
Practice urgency at all times with patient's time, as well as doctor's time and schedule
Verify patient information by interviewing patient
Records medical history, current medications, and confirms purpose of visit
Checks condition of patient's eyes by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
Required skills include dilation, refraction, pressures, and performing a variety of diagnostic tests including but not limited to; visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor and topography
Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications
General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager
Requirements :
Ophthalmic Technician Qualifications :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must possess strong computer skills
One-year related experience preferred
COA or COT certification preferred but will consider otherwise qualified candidates with less experience
