We are looking for a PRN Speech Language Pathologist to join our amazing team.
What will you do :
A Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate and treat residents / patients with temporary or long-term speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
They will evaluate the resident's / patient's speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency and develop treatment plans. They will treat the residents / patients based on a physician's treatment plan.
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
Current license in Speech Language Therapy as required by state law.
Valid CPR certification required.
Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
Functions :
Screens and evaluates patients / residents and develops appropriate care plan.
Under a physician's direction, provide direct patient / resident treatment based on established plan of care.
Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and / or swallowing or cognitive problems.
Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
Instructs residents / patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and / or federal regulations.
Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment.
